Children

We carry childhood experiences with us for all of our lives. Dentistry is absolutely no exception.

Children need to be handled very carefully in the dental environment. However, it is amazing, but with a team effort from parents and dental staff, even having a filling or a tooth extraction can be turned into a positive experience for a child.

Baby teeth are (usually) replaced by adult teeth but they are still extremely important. Crucially, diseased or damaged baby teeth can affect their adult successors. If baby teeth have to be extracted, particularly at an early age, the growth of the jaws will be affected resulting in misaligned or crowded adult teeth.

It is obvious when a child gets their first adult front teeth. However, the first adult back teeth usually erupt unnoticed when the child is 6 years old. We want children to still have these teeth many years into the future when they are great grandparents.
